About the Event
Moment of Clarity (MOC): Salon gatherings are old happenings. Parlor floors and living rooms have long given audience to fun, feisty and fact-filled conversations: Alain Locke on Howard University's campus; the entertaining living rooms of Black Brooklyn & Harlem in the 90s. People often gather to discuss, to inform and to build.
This program uses town hall dialogue, curated performances, beverages (sometimes) and food to encourage conversation about alpha theory.
MOC is an expanded look into alpha male/female theory and of masculinity as progressive not detrimental. The salon inspires participants to consider capacity as a better measure than dominance, compassion a better goal than unfettered aggression.
This includes esteem, abuse, violence, bullying and oppression.
Our goal is simple. We are attempting to give information and tools to people looking to change themselves and their communities. The expansion of alpha attributes is not the end, it is the conversation starter. It is an introduction to create more actions.
It is a starting point we can all understand.
